Import a CSV
Go to Leads and choose to import a file. Map your columns to Leadey’s fields. The mapping is remembered, so the second import of the same export shape is a few clicks. Two things worth knowing:- Contact fields are optional. If your list is companies rather than people — a target account list with no names yet — import it as it is. Leadey will not invent a person named after their own employer.
- Duplicates are merged, not stacked. Importing a list you have imported before updates the existing records rather than creating a second copy of everyone.
Capture inbound enquiries
Every campaign can have its own inbound webhook — a URL that your website form, ad platform or automation tool posts to. A person who fills in your contact form lands directly in the right campaign. Open a campaign, then its settings, to find the URL and map the fields your form sends. See Inbound webhooks for the payload shape. This is how you keep inbound and outbound in one place rather than in two tools that disagree about who a person is.Add someone by hand
On Leads, add an individual. Useful for the person you just met, and for testing a campaign on yourself before pointing it at real people.Find people you don’t have yet
Search builds lists from scratch rather than importing one. That is the whole of parts 4 and 5 — skip ahead if you have no list to start from. How Leadey decides two records are the same person
A person is identified by their email address first, then by their LinkedIn profile. The same human appearing in three imports and one webhook is one person, enrolled in however many campaigns — not four contacts with three different call histories. This is why it is safe to import overlapping lists. It is also why changing
someone’s email address on one record changes it everywhere.
Leads and companies
Every lead carries a company. Leadey builds a company record behind the scenes and links people at the same business together, so opening a company shows everyone you know there and everything anyone on your team has done with them. What you should have now
